What is Alpaca?
Alpaca is a U.S. stock brokerage built for developers. They provide the trading infrastructure that lets algorithms, like ours, connect to the NYSE and NASDAQ. They're regulated by the SEC and member of FINRA, with securities protected by SIPC up to $500,000.
When you sign up, you create an Alpaca account in your name. Your cash and securities are held there—not with us.
What are API keys?
API keys are credentials generated in your Alpaca dashboard that allow our system to submit orders on your behalf. Think of it like a valet key: we can drive (trade), but cannot access the trunk (withdrawals) or check the registration (banking details).
API keys can only submit orders. They cannot withdraw funds, change your banking details, or access your personal information. Revoke them anytime to instantly stop access.

How does the algorithm decide what to trade?
It combines momentum signals, trend analysis, volume patterns, and news sentiment to score opportunities. Trades only execute when multiple factors align and pass risk filters.
Is my money safe?
Your funds stay at Alpaca, a SEC-regulated brokerage with SIPC protection. We connect via API keys that only allow trading—we cannot withdraw funds or access your banking details.
What are API keys?
API keys are credentials you generate in your Alpaca account that let our system place trades on your behalf. You control the keys and can delete them anytime to revoke access instantly.
Do I need trading experience?
No. During onboarding you select a risk profile (conservative to aggressive) and the algorithm handles position sizing, entries, and exits accordingly.
What does it cost?
Paper trading is free. Live trading uses a performance fee model—we earn a percentage of profits above a threshold. No profits, no fee.
Can I stop the algorithm?
Yes. Delete your API keys from Alpaca's dashboard and the connection cuts immediately. You can also pause trading from your CameronAI dashboard. WARNING: If you revoke keys, change specific permissions, or fail billing without notifying us, existing open positions REMAIN UNCHANGED. They will not be managed or closed automatically. You must manually manage them or re-connect to the system.
When does it trade?
U.S. market hours only: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday. The algorithm doesn't trade pre-market or after-hours.
What markets does it cover?
U.S. equities on NYSE and NASDAQ. We focus on liquid large and mid-cap stocks where execution is reliable and spreads are tight.
How is performance tracked?
Your dashboard shows real-time positions, P&L, and risk metrics. All trades are logged with entry/exit reasons. We also send periodic performance summaries.
What if the market crashes?
The macro regime detector will identify risk-off conditions and reduce exposure automatically. Daily loss limits act as circuit breakers to halt trading if drawdowns exceed thresholds.
